The Todds Hand Knits team popped by the SIBLING AW14 show at London Collections this week. SIBLING have long been our favourite 'knitwear mavericks' with consistently impressive and zany collections.
The show was inspired by the working man, the labourers and the grafters. With a colour palette that featured coal-blacks and greys SIBLING created workwear shapes with their own unique twist. A traditional cable roll neck was paired with matching (and insanely cool) knitted short shorts, fringed knitwear over hard worked denim and smiles. Yes, SMILES! Who knew a smile could be so refreshing, great to see the models actually having fun on the runway, great touch. Even the black runway carpet evoked their inspiration perfectly, flecked with silver and catching the lights above we were reminded of the coal pits and the labourers from whom SIBLING drew many of their ideas.
The collection featured hand knit cable stitched cardigans, oversized snoods, crocheted blankets and a peppering of our favourite fair isle - the perfect knitting inspirations!
